moving on happens when you’re not looking

it sneaks up on you when you’re busy doing other things

new lips brush gently against her  face on a cold night

unexpected

he beams when sunlight spills into the room

as if she wasn’t weary at all, but her weariness made her more beautiful

seeking each other out

it happened without rhyme or reason

surrendered, done, open

when no one was looking

she realized she’d moved on

and you realized she was gone
